Joanne is a Level 3 Figure Coach and is the most successful female figure skater the United Kingdom has ever produced. She was 6 times British Champion and competed in nearly thirty European, World & Olympic Championships.
Retiring from competitive skating in 1992 after the Albertville Winter Olympic Games, Joanne decided to concentrate on her broadcasting career. Some of her credits include: BBC’s ‘Pebble Mill’, Radio 5 Live, Metro FM, D.I.Y TV for Tyne Tees, BBC Bristol, GMTV, Behind the scenes at the BBC’s Choice 110%.
Joanne was a commentator on the European Figure Skating Championships in Slovakia, and shortly after that, presenting the World Championships for Eurosport.
She has managed successfully to juggle her television and radio career with skating starring in shows such as ‘Holiday on Ice’ Blackpool’s ‘The Hot Ice Show’ and has even taken to the stage as the Fairy in Kevin Wood’s sell out production of ‘Cinderella’ at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage.
Other Television credits include: ‘Kilroy’, Question of Sport’, BBC1’s ‘Pleasure Beach’ and LWT’s ‘Ice Warriors’. Joanne has piloted ‘Home Squad’ a comedy DIY show made by Vera productions for Channel 4.
Joanne is now living and working In Madrid ,Spain where she continues to work within skating and help others achieve their goals by coaching and passing on the knowledge gained from all her years of experience.
In 1991 at the age of 17, Alexei became the first skater to perform a quadruple jump at the European Figure Skating Championships. Following his gold medal at the Hamar 1994 Winter Olympics, Alexei chose to remain in the competitive ranks. He was European champion in 1997, but an injury kept him from earning a trip to the 1998 Olympics. He turned pro after and he won the World Professional championships in 1999. Currently he is a skating coach and was one of the first ISU technical specialists.
Kathryn has been coaching for over 15 years and has been responsible for 12 British titles over the past 10 years in both singles and pairs. As a coach, she has had skaters compete for Great Britain in Youth Olympics (singles) twice, at Junior Worlds (pairs) and numerous other internationals including three Junior Grand Prix. Currently Kathryn has skaters on both the British Performance squad and British Development squad.
Kathryn is a Level 3 coach and was B.I.T.A. Young Coach of the Year in 2002. She was part of the I.S.U. Development Project in Finland which was run over 3 years to develop skating amongst the Scandinavian countries and Great Britain where she worked with many of the World's top coaches.
As a skater herself, Kathryn was a high level free skater but specialised in pairs. She was British Junior and Senior pairs Champion and competed for Great Britain in 10 internationals including Europeans, Worlds and the Olympic Games in Albertville in 1992.
Victoria is a Level 2 Coach and has taught both Figure Skating and Ice Dance for a number of years. She coaches people of all ages and abilities and has trained skaters to British Championship level. With a flare for choreography, she has directed and choreographed a number shows, galas and ice skating events.

Victoria is also a complete glutton for punishment as she is not only coaching during the dance sessions but has also agreed to stay on the ice and coach during the figure sessions as well. We are delighted that she could be tempted away from doing chasse's and cross rolls to the joyful world of loops, lutz's and axel's (only joking John lol) !

Adria is currently a member of the Spanish Ice Dance Team and is competing internationally at Junior Grand Prix level. As a figure skater, he came 3rd at the Spanish Nationals in Spain.
Adria was part of our coaching team last year for the school in 2009 and enjoys working with beginner skaters.
